Visiting Professor (VP) is an activity of teaching in class, conducting research and other academic activities as an effort to improve the cooperation between UNY and partners both domestically and abroad.

The 59th anniversary of UNY has many activities for lecturers, employees, students, and even the general public including school students. One of the series of activities is MIPA EXPO. The activity, which was located in the main yard of FMIPA UNY, took place from May 29 to 31, 2023. A total of 40 booths enlivened this event. MIPA EXPO activity stands are divided into 4 groups consisting of culinary groups, orchids, departments, and also student organizations.

Saturday, May 27, 2023, the Mathematics Education Study Program FMIPA UNY held a Webinar Series #3 with the theme “The profession of communicative, collaborative, critical & creative mathematics educators". A total of 217 people registered as participants who came from almost all parts of Indonesia from practitioners, students, teachers and lecturers.

Students often experience difficulties during the math learning process at school. This is partly due to the lack of teachers in maximizing the use of learning media. Teachers tend to make simple learning media, as a result the learning process is less interactive. The development of digital/virtual mathematics learning media as interactive media in the form of web-based virtual representation is still rarely known by the majority of mathematics teachers.

Tuesday, May 9, 2023 was the last lecture in the visiting professor series with Associate Professor Paul Ginns. Paul Ginns delivered a lecture with the theme of mathematics anxiety. Mathematics anxiety (MA) is a feeling of anxiety, tension, fear that arises when dealing with mathematics. This will interfere with students in solving the problems they face.

The Visiting Professor (VP) activity with Associate Professor Paul Ginns entered its third meeting. The VP held on May 2, 2023 explained the effects of Cognitive Load Theory, especially the influence of material order in learning. The lecture started at 07:30 WIB and was conducted online using the zoom platform.
