The first Practitioner Joint Lecture was successfully held on Monday, December 6, 2021, organized by the Mathematics Education Study Program FMIPA UNY with the topic “Mathematics Teachers Driving the Implementation of the Prototype Curriculum” moderated by Dr. Syakrul Hamdi, M.Pd. The Joint Lecture with Practitioners was immediately opened by the Coordinator of the Mathematics Education S-1 Study Program, Mrs. Endah Retnowati, Ph.D., who said that this Joint Lecture with Practitioners is expected to be useful and gain knowledge from practitioners regarding the curriculum, especially the driving curriculum / independent learning.

The Practitioner Joint Lecture presented Iin Fibriastusti, S.Pd.Si as the first batch of driving teachers as well as the head of the SMP Mathematics MGMP of Tumanggung Regency, Central Java, who shared her experience of being a driving teacher. Some of the sub-materials presented were about the values obtained after becoming a driving teacher and the role of driving teachers; experiential learning models used in driving teacher activities with various concepts; real actions of driving teachers in mathematics learning; differentiated mathematics learning; driving schools and assessment.

Lecturers, S-1 students, S-2 students and mathematics teachers from various levels of education participated in the Lecture with Practitioners enthusiastically as evidenced by the number of participants who asked questions. The implementation of this Practitioner Joint Lecture utilizes the zoom application, YouTube streaming, and live Instagram. This practitioner lecture is expected to add a lot of knowledge related to curriculum implementation in education units and become a motivation for prospective teachers, especially undergraduate students of Mathematics Education UNY because the speaker is an Alumni of Mathematics Education UNY. Lecture series will continue to be held until lecture series 6 in December 2021 of course with different topics and speakers through the same zoom link.
