Digital Media Training for Learning Mathematics Today

The purpose of this training activity is to improve the quality of junior high school mathematics learning activities in Kulon Progo Regency. More specifically, this training activity aims to improve the skills of mathematics teachers in developing online mathematics learning media that are innovative, interactive, and improve mathematical understanding. Mathematics learning has characteristics that make teachers must be able to create a learning atmosphere so that students' mathematical understanding as the main goal can be achieved. In both online and offline learning situations, teachers can design media in the form of student worksheets that train students to develop mathematical understanding. Considering these conditions, the training held in September 2022 can improve the pedagogical competence of teachers in anticipating the rapid development of information technology. The training was held at the Computer Laboratory, Department of Mathematics Education, FMIPA.

The development of digital learning media that can improve students' mathematical understanding should be innovative and interactive. Software that is easy for teachers to use without the need for algorithmic programming knowledge is an option. One programming that can be widely accessed by teachers is the platform available on the page www.liveworksheets.com. In this training, 27 mathematics teachers who became participants were facilitated to develop learning media with direct assistance from three lecturers (Endah Retnowati, Ph.D., Dr. Djamilah Bondan Widjajanti, and Dr. Sri Andayani) of the Mathematics Education Department and tutors, namely five students (Pratama Wahyu Purnama, Irfan Hilmi, Nindy Fadlila, Eva Julianingsih, Iif Zulfidatul Inayah, and Ronalia Wati) who were involved in the activity. The results of the development were presented and discussed so that teachers could get feedback to improve the learning media. This activity also provides direct experience to students who act as tutors, namely providing instructions in operating the digital media development platform.
