Cooperation between Mathematics Education Study Program and Mathematics MGMP of Sleman Regency Senior High School to serve The Community and support the MBKM policy.
The Ministry of Education and Culture launched an innovative policy in the form of Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) to produce graduates who are more relevant in their fields. In order to support this policy, the Mathematics Education Study Program FMIPA UNY collaborates with the Sleman Regency Senior High School Mathematics Teacher Council (MGMP). On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, a meeting to discuss the implementation of the cooperation was held in Session Room 1 FMIPA UNY. This collaboration is also a form of community service (PkM) from mathematics education lecturers FMIPA UNY. The agenda of the cooperation meeting was opened with the submission of a cooperation agreement by the Mathematics Education Study Program to the Head of the Sleman Regency Senior High School Mathematics MGMP.
The cooperation meeting was chaired by Mathematics Education Study Program Coordinator, Mrs. Endah Retnowati, Ph.D. This agenda was attended by 11 members of Sleman Regency MGMP including the head of MGMP, Mr. Raden Anang Mustofa, S.Pd., M.Pd. The Vice Dean of FMIPA UNY, Prof. Jaslin Ikhsan, M.App.Sc., Ph.D also attended this activity.
There are two types of cooperation established in the meeting between MGMP and Mathematics Education Study Program FMIPA UNY. The first cooperation is that the Mathematics Education Study Program entrusts MGMP with several 5th semester students for internships in several selected high schools in Sleman Regency. There is a selection process in determining students who can participate in this internship program. 16 students who passed the selection of this internship will intern at school with the task of observing classroom learning and helping teachers to assist students in overcoming math learning difficulties. This activity is a substitute for the Senior High School Mathematics Study course (2 credits) and Digital Mathematics Learning Media (3 credits). Therefore, students will be interned from the beginning of August to the end of October (16 meetings).
The second collaboration is in the form of training for mathematics teachers who are members of the Sleman Regency Senior High School Mathematics MGMP. Teachers will be given training in making digital media that can later be used in the learning process. In addition, teachers are also given seminars related to literacy and numeracy skills. The topic is the current prima donna in the world of school education, especially for mathematics learning.
