Successful implementation of Webinar Series #1 with the theme Psychology of Learning Mathematics

The first webinar series with the theme of psychology of learning mathematics is one of six webinar series that will be held every month by the Mathematics Education Study Program FMIPA UNY. This activity aims to provide benefits so that knowledge is obtained from speakers who explain topics related to the psychology of learning mathematics, so that it can open new insights.

This activity was successfully carried out on Saturday, April 23, 2022 which was opened by Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Si as the Dean of FMIPA UNY moderated by Dra. Endang Listyani, M.S. This activity presented three extraordinary speakers, the first speaker was Leonora Fitri Agustina Hutabarat, M.Pd by presenting the topic “Student Struggle Power in Learning Mathematics Online”. The topic was about students' fighting power in learning, learning math online, and also Adversity Quotient Booster. The second speaker with the topic “Implementation of Metacognition Strategies in Learning Mathematics” was presented by Dr. Djamilah Bondan Widjajanti. This topic presented what metacognition is, metacognition strategies and their implementation in mathematics learning. The third speaker with the topic “Metacognition in the Perspective of Cognitive Load Theory” was presented by Endah Retnowati, Ph.D. This topic was presented on how the mechanism of metacognition and how to measure metacognition.

The webinar took place by utilizing the zoom application and was broadcast live on the youtube and instagram accounts of FMIPA UNY. Teachers, students and lecturers from various campuses participated in attending this webinar virtually. The enthusiasm of the participants was felt as seen from the curiosity of the webinar participants in the form of expressing questions about the topics presented. From this activity, it is hoped that it can present the next webinar series with themes that are no less interesting.
