Lilis Risma Putri and Team: Mathematics Education Students Pass PKM Funding to PIMNAS Champion

The Student Creativity Program (PKM) is a scientific activity competition organized by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2021, PKM was carried out in a blended manner, namely online and offline. The series of activities include submitting PKM proposals by student proposers, administrative and proposal selection, announcement of funded proposals, implementation of PKM research, PKM Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP2), and the peak event is the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS).

Lilis Risma Putri or commonly called Lilis is one of the students of the Mathematics Education study program class of 2020 who received PKM funding in 2021. Lilis is one of the members of the PKM Research Exact (PKM RE) team chaired by Fatimah Nur Qomariyah (Biology 2019) and three other members, namely Luthfiah Nur Hidayah (Biology 2019), Briliani Kharismaningtias (Biology Education 2020), and Nur Wakhidah (Biology Education 2020). Lilis and the team proposed a PKM proposal with the title “Bioacid Potential of Soursop Seeds (Annona muricata L.) Against Mites Causing Crepe Disease in Ear Mushrooms (Auricularia polytricha)” and successfully received funding. In this activity, Lilis and the team also managed to qualify for PIMNAS and obtained the Bronze Equivalent Medal in the Poster Category. “What an unexpected opportunity, I am very happy to be able to make UNY proud”, she said.

Lilis said that she went through a series of PKM activities for about eight months. In March 2021, Lilis and her team compiled and submitted a PKM proposal. Then in May 2021, the team that passed the PKM funding was announced. Then from June to September, Lilis and her team conducted PKM research. “During the research, we encountered many obstacles. Starting from the PPKM policy, limited research space, to the closure of the FMIPA Laboratory. But we were able to get through these difficulties together. Good teamwork makes us strong and able to pass every obstacle", she continued.

After being declared a participant of PIMNAS 34, Lilis and the team prepared the files to be presented in front of the jury. They were accompanied by the PKM Center UNY Team and accompanying lecturers for one month. Lilis and the team were also quarantined for about a week before the presentation so that they could focus on PIMNAS. “There are so many facilities that we received from UNY during PIMNAS preparation, from assistance in making PKM outcomes, training in making posters, to training in research presentation. In addition, we were also facilitated with computers to minimize obstacles during the online presentation,” said Lilis.

Lilis hopes that the experience she gained can inspire other students who are struggling to study, make achievements, and carry out other activities that are beneficial to others and the surrounding environment. As for this year 2022, Lilis again submitted a PKM proposal with the title “Kardigan Innovation Eco Print Javanese Aksara Sriwedhari Anti Droplet as Fashion in the New Normal Era” which was chaired by Afifatu Tsabbita (Fashion Education) and three other members namely Isna Rifdatul Amiiroh (Fashion Education), Faida Suci Wulandari (Fashion Education), and Sarifatun Khasanah (Economic Education).
