VISITING PROFESSOR JOSE HANHAM #2: WRITES METHODS, RESULTS, AND DISCUSSION OF RESEARCH

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Associate Professor Jose Hanham who was a guest lecturer on the visiting professor agenda continued the second session of the workshop which was held in two parts. Jose Hanham is a lecturer from Australia, more specifically from Western Sydney University (QS WUR = 375). Visiting Professor activities were held in the courtroom 2 FMIPA UNY from 13:00 - 17:00 WIB. Participants attended in a hybrid manner, where some students attended lectures online and some were offline. Session #2 meeting attended by more than 30 students discussed the continuation of knowledge and skills in journal writing, especially in presenting details of research methods, presenting results, and discussion.

Jose explained that writing the body of a journal article should explain procedurally what was applied in the research so that readers of the article can reproduce the research. This is one of the techniques to show that the research has followed scientific principles. The lecturer from Australia and New Zealand also provided direct assistance to students who were drafting scientific publication articles.

This visiting professor activity is an effort of the Mathematics Education Study Program to support the achievement of the vision of the study program and the vision of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) to become a World Class Educational University (UKKD). Improving the quality of lectures towards the international level continues to be carried out on an ongoing basis. (ER)
