practitioner in UNY mathematics education

The Mathematics Education Study Program presents ten practitioners in 2021. Eight practitioners taught students in public lectures packaged in six webinar series, which were held from April to September. Two practitioners teach directly in the classroom with the course lecturer.

First, the practitioner Mrs. Laksmi Indrawati, S.Pd. taught in the Mathematics Learning Planning course class taught by Dr. Ali Mahmudi and Dr. Syukrul Hamdi in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This practitioner is an outstanding mathematics teacher from SMP Negeri 1 Sleman. Through the involvement of these practitioners, students get examples as well as practical illustrations of learning implementation, from planning to implementation in the classroom. Students who take part in the lecture process come from the fifth semester consisting of UNY students and MBKM students from UNNES and Patimura University..

Second, the practitioner Mrs. Yuliana, M.Ed. taught in the English for Mathematics Learning class taught by Mrs. Endah Retnowati, Ph.D. in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This practitioner is an English teacher at the Language Institute at Atmajaya University, Yogyakarta. Students who take this lecture are in their third semester and have previously passed the prerequisite course, namely English. Mathematics Education students are expected to become teachers, educators, or developers not only at the national but international level. Mastery of English specifically for the context of mathematics is certainly very necessary.

The involvement of practitioners in lectures will continue to be implemented to strengthen the competence of graduates and the quality of lecture methods. Interacting with practitioners also provides real benefits for the implementation of the Study Program's collaboration with the world of mathematics education work. Hopefully this activity can also make a positive contribution to the development of education in Indonesia in general. (Tim-Sy)
