The collaboration between the Mathematics Education Study Program of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) and the Mathematics Education Study Program of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) was established in the discussion of the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum in 2022.

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka is a program designed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, Technology, and Higher Education which aims to encourage students to master various sciences to prepare for entering the world of work. MBKM provides opportunities for students to choose courses or activities outside the main campus. This activity is a form of student mobility program at the national and / or international level. Of course, this activity is an urgency to be carried out because curriculum comparison and course equivalence can be useful for students so that they can choose courses appropriately according to their needs. The MBKM discussion activity between the UNY and UPI Mathematics Education Study Programs was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, by presenting administrators and representatives of lecturers from the UNY and UPI Mathematics Education Study Programs online by utilizing the zoom application.

In addition to strengthening the relationship between the Mathematics Education Study Programs at the two universities, the MBKM discussion activities in 2022 certainly produced results and benefits in the form of an agreement that UNY and UPI were able to implement MBKM in the 2022/2023 odd semester.
