The Multimedia Workshop Based on Cognitive Load Theory – Batch 1 was once again held on Monday (August 3, 2026), at the Master’s and Doctoral Building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). The third session focused intensively on the validation, presentation, and refinement of the learning multimedia developed by the participants.

The session began with a hands-on analysis of a sample multimedia development product on the theme of growth mindset, facilitated by Noka Setya M., M.Pd. Participants then received essential material on validation sheets for multimedia development. This material served as a crucial reference for evaluating the quality of the multimedia products developed by the participants to ensure their alignment with instructional design principles.

In the following session, participants—particularly undergraduate students—presented the learning multimedia products they had designed. The presentation session, facilitated by Tista Sugiarti, M.Pd., provided an effective platform for participants to receive feedback, engage in critical discussions, and further refine the multimedia products they were developing.

The workshop continued with a Multimedia Principles Application Consultation Session with the Director of ICCLR, Endah Retnowati, Ph.D. In addition to providing direct guidance on applying cognitive load principles to the participants’ multimedia products, the session also featured interactive games that created a more engaging and enjoyable workshop atmosphere.

Amid the intensive activities, the workshop also received a special visit from Assoc. Prof. Paul Ginns from The University of Sydney. He took the time to greet the participants and provide brief yet valuable feedback and insights on the multimedia products presented during the session.
