The admission of new students of Mathematics Education Department class of 2013 as well as the opening of OSPEK (Orientation and Campus Introduction) at the Faculty level was held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 07.00 WIB in the yard of FMIPA UNY. After the opening ceremony, it was continued with briefing to students by Dr. Sugiman, M.Si., Drs. Sahid, M.Sc, and Dr. Maman Agus Abadi. The content of the briefing includes the Organizational Structure of the Department, Vision and Mission of the Mat and P. Mat Study Program, Academic Regulations, Student Ethics, Academic Services, Student Services, and character education (about scientific attitudes). The debriefing event was held in Room D.07.301 on the third floor of Building 07 FMIPA UNY where new students sat on the floor (see Figure).

New students in the Mathematics Education Department are 113 students in the Mathematics Study Program and 83 students in the Mathematics Study Program. Among these students there are special program students, namely the Bidik Misi program, which amounts to 16 Bidik Misi students in Mat Study Program and 19 Bidik Misi students in Mat Study Program. To provide maximum service, 12 lecturers have been prepared to become Academic Advisors (PA) for new students and the PA for bikdik misi students is the head of each study program. In 2013, 5 new classes were opened consisting of 3 classes of Mathematics Study Program and 2 classes of Mathematics Study Program.
