The graduate of BEM UNY works in various positions in the field of education, such as:

1. mathematics teachers;
2. instructurs at teacher training centers, i.e. Center for the Development and Empowerment of Mathematics Teachers and Education Personnel (P4TK Matematika), the Institution for Quality Assurance in Education (LPMP), and Quality Improvement for Teachers and Educational Personnels in Mathematics (QITEP);
3. lecturers at various universities;
4. educational program officers at developmental jobs managed by non government organization;
5. developers of mathematical mannipulatives and teaching media;
6. instructurs and managers at centers for tutorial in mathematics

Applicants must:

• hold a senior high diploma
• pass the entrance selection and/or test for which an applicant can attend: SNMPTN (National Public University Admission), SBMPTN (Partnership Public University Admission), or SM-UNY (Local UNY Admission).

The minimum number of credits is 144 units (uoc) which consists of:

- 20 uoc for university common courses

- 2 uoc for faculty common courses

- 8 uoc for basic educational courses

- 114 uoc for subject specific and pedagogical content courses
